  • Hi Grace Snell Middle School PTSA,

    Good question...

If you create an email in your account, and select multiple lists to be recipients, then an email address on more than one list will only receive one email.

It's the same when you send a "quick email" from your personal email account, and use the email address that's given, e.g. use "list=listABC+list=listXYZ++myaccount@groupvine.com" to send to listABC & listXYZ, after selecting your target lists in the Want to email your members from your personal email account? box on your account home page.

However, if your "quick email" from your personal email account sends to your lists' group email addresses individually separated by commas, e.g. "listABC.myaccount@groupvine.com, listXYZ.myaccount@groupvine.com", then an email address on listABC & listXYZ will receive multiple email copies.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions!

    Best,
    Robin

  • Thanks I think this solves it. I don't think we are using quick email. Haven't had time to play with it.

  • I didn't want to create confusion between lists and sub-groups, but in case you decide to send emails to sub-groups...

Whenever you send an email, either from your account or from your personal email account, and select multiple sub-groups as recipients, then if an email address is in more than one sub-group, then it will receive multiple copies. The reason for this is because sub-groups can be set up so members can email, or reply, to their respective groups, so we want them to receive separate copies.

Hope that makes sense! Again, let me know if you have questions!
