When I preview my email, the text is running behind the adds. How do I correct that?

  • Hi Carla,

I took a look at your draft email and your email is within a table, which is set wider than the allowable fixed width of the email template, so the text within the table is going beyond the right margin.

I made a few quick changes and copied a version into your account with "(GV)" in front of the subject. You can take a look at this to see if it will send correctly formatted. We recommend typing your newsletter directly into the editor (or copy and paste text using the Paste from Word icon) without tables since, as you've already experienced, can cause problems. I also noticed you have a sample newsletter which looks great and this is probably the way to go.

If you'd like to send emails without ads so you can use a wider email area, you can think about using your GroupVine Subscription account. Let me know if you have any questions about this!

    Hope this helps!

    Best,
    Robin

  • The ads are fine -- I copied from my last newsletter to this one so I am not sure why the table is wider since it came from within the system. That is odd. Each month I want to be able to do do that to start the next months newsletter -- is that not a good idea? I did not see the ability to do a SAVE AS to create a copy.

  • Hi Carla,

Ah, it might be that when you copied, you may have included the entire template (which is basically a table) because I noticed the extra smaller logo on the right which is part of the template.

To do what you're describing, click Group contents (delete, copy, move) on your home page, click the checkbox next to the email you'd like to copy and click Copy and then click Paste.  This will get you a new Draft email of your copied email (I think this is what you want).  We then recommend clicking on the Draft email's Address Name column, editing it to a unique name and clicking Rename, and then doing the same for the Draft email's Subject. Renaming its address and subject isn't required and you'll see there will be a "-2" in the address name, but this just prevents you from having "-2-2-2-2-2" and so on as you make more email copies.

    Hope this helps!

    Best,
    Robin
